CROP PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION
Crop Production is a course in Agriculture that focuses on the science and practice of growing crops for food, fiber, and other uses. It provides learners with knowledge and skills needed to produce crops efficiently and sustainably.
The course covers key areas such as land preparation, soil management, seed selection, planting methods, crop nutrition, irrigation, weed control, pest and disease management, and harvesting techniques. It also introduces modern farming practices, including sustainable agriculture and the use of technology in crop production.
Students will learn how environmental factors like climate, soil type, and water availability affect crop growth. The course also emphasizes proper farm management practices, record keeping, and post-harvest handling to reduce losses and improve productivity.
